Amelia Johnston is the Senior Adviser of the Capability & Impact Hub in the Behavioural Economics Team of the Australian Government (BETA). She has provided economic and policy advice on a wide range of policy issues over 13 years in the public sector, working in PM&C, the Prime Minister’s Office, DFAT and the World Bank. Blending economic frameworks and policy skills, she has spent a lot of time translating technical economic analysis into implementable policy advice in Australia, Pakistan, Indonesia and the Philippines. Amelia’s long-held interest in behavioural economics stems from its emphasis on effective implementation and real-world impact.
Amelia has Bachelor degrees in Economics and Science (statistics) from the University of Queensland and a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University.
