Lisa Cameron is a Professor at the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research at the University of Melbourne. She is an empirical microeconomist and experimental economist with two decades of experience conducting economic policy experiments with a focus on poverty alleviation and policies that impact disadvantaged groups.
Lisa holds a PhD in Economics from Princeton University. She is an affiliated professor of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) – a network of researchers conducting randomized evaluations of policy interventions around the globe; a member of the Economic Society of Australia’s National Economic Panel of prominent economists; and in 2014 was elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Social Sciences. Her research has been published in leading academic journals, including her research on the behavioural impacts of China’s One Child Policy which was published in Science.
