Ryan Batchelor is currently Executive Director, Public Sector Reform at the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet. In this role, Ryan oversees public sector reform, outcomes, performance and delivery and whole of Victorian Government innovation initiatives – including the Public Sector Innovation Fund, the Behavioural Insights Unit, and the Victorian Centre for Data Insights.
Ryan joined the department in mid-2015 after returning from the United Kingdom where he completed a Master of Public Policy at the University of Cambridge. Prior to that he worked at senior levels of the Australian Government for several years, including as Chief of Staff in the Office of the Federal Minister for Families, Community Services Indigenous Affairs, and Disability Reform from 2010 – 2012, and Director of Policy in the Office of the Prime Minister of Australia in 2012 – 2013. In these roles, Ryan worked on the development and funding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme, paid parental leave and pensions reform.
