Élise Payzan-LeNestour is a Scientia Fellow Associate Professor of Finance at the University of New South Wales. She received her PhD in finance from the Swiss Finance Institute at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 2009 and was a Visiting Associate at the California Institute of Technology from 2010 to 2014. She is also a former student from the École Normale Supérieure de la Rue d’Ulm.
Élise is a Behavioural Scientist who combines insights from decision neuroscience, psychology, experimental economics, and finance in order to study how the brain perceives and reacts to financial risks. She’s currently collaborating with economists, neuroscientists, and psychologists at Brown University, Columbia University, Geneva University, The University of New South Wales, and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Her work has been published in top tier academic journals in both biology and finance.
