Our Networks

As the central behavioural economics team in the Australian Government, we are working to create a BI community across Australia. We have established and continue to develop networks within the Australian Public Service to support the application of behavioural economics across government policy.

Behavioural Insights Practitioners Network (BIPN)

We support a network of behavioural insights practitioners working across the Australian Government to deepen the knowledge of behavioural insights, share experiences, and encourage collaboration within the behavioural insights community. BIPN members throughout the APS work on a range of practical projects applying behavioural insights to public policy and service delivery, with the aim of improving the lives of all Australians.

If you are a behavioural insights practitioner in the APS and would like to join BIPN, please contact us to introduce yourself!

Behavioural Insights Champions Network (BICN)

The Behavioural Insights Champion Network (BICN) was a two-year training program to upskill APS staff to champion BI in their own agencies. The inaugural BICN program (2018-2020) supported 59 champions across 38 agencies to raise awareness of BI and apply BI strategies in their agencies. The second BICN program (2020-2022) supported 95 champions across 38 government agencies to raise awareness of BI and apply BI strategies in their agencies.

Were you a champion? We’d love to hear how you’ve continued to apply BI in your career.

We are no longer running BICN. If you are an APS staff member looking to expand your use of BI, consider applying for our new BE Coached program for 1:1 mentoring with a BETA expert.
